The Bahia instrumentalist and singer Gustavo Di Dalva began to play percussion at age 7, guided by his father and teacher, Tony Mola. He had as padrinhos great names of the percussion Bahiana like Carlinhos Brown, Grandpa and Ivan Huol.

the musical influence of Gustavo Di Dalva covers a wide dimension and variety of rhythms, pertinent to reality and modernity.

Rhythms from northeastern Brazil such as baião, samba and bossa nova and afro bahiano were fundamental.

Using these influences as a starting point incorporating reggae, funk, Latin rhythms, African tribal music and Bahia rhythms, such as afoxé and candomblé.

 

At age 11 he played in electric trios by artists like Luiz Caldas, invented it by axé music.

founder of the group Vai quem Vem, recorded the album with the singer Sérgio Mendes. Participated in the foundation of Timbalada, Bragadá and played throughout the country with the extinct band Reflexu's.

Four years later, he made his big debut alongside Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil at the Tropicália 2 show. He played and recorded with great national music names such as Milton Nascimento, Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia, Djavan, Marisa Monte, Daniela Mercury, Ivete Sangalo , Margaret Menezes, Luis Caldas, Dominguinhos, Lulu Santos, Netinho, Ney Matogrosso, Gerônimo, Preta Gil, Davi Moraes, Bragadá, Arto Lindsay, Bonga, Chico Science & Navio Zumbi, Lucas Santana, Eva Band, Luiz Brazil, Mou Brazil, Asa de Águia, Adelmo Casé, Saul Barbosa, Maria Rita, Sandy & Junior, Sandra de Sá, Marina Lima, Tony Garrido, Skank, Elba Ramalho, Paralamas of success, among others.

played 22 years with Gilberto Gil, performed at international festivals such as the "Umbra Jazz Festival" in Italy, "Montreal Festival" in Canada, "La Fiesta!" in Italy, "Summer Stage" in New York - USA, Nice Jazz Festival in France north sea jazz festival - Holland, among many others.

Currently touring the singer David Byrne in the show America Utopia going through 28 countries, winner of the best show award in the United States.

Living in New York since 2017 follows a career as an instrumentalist, singer, composer and conductor of percussion workshops

He also made his debut as a producer in 2011 producing the album by singer Bel Maia and in 2016 by singer Manuela Rodrigues

Gustavo Di Dalva represents well the charm of the batuque with diversity of rhythms and all his experience in the solo project.
